Dr. Tessa Brouwer is veterinarian and owner of Family Vet Clinic Centurion and Hazeldean. Originally from The Netherlands, Tessa has lived in South Africa for more than a decade. She completed her Master’s degree in Animal Sciences at Wageningen University in The Netherlands and came here initially for half a year to conduct research for her thesis. She met her future husband and decided to stay.

She completed her Veterinary Science degree at Onderstepoort faculty of the University of Pretoria in 2014.

She first started working in Lydenburg at Longtom Dierekliniek, in an Afrikaans mixed animal veterinary practice. There she treated both companion and production animals. From there she moved to Hoedspruit and worked with Dr. Peter Rogers at ProVet Wildlife Services. At ProVet she got the opportunity to treat a variety of species*.

She is looking forward to meeting all your pets at Family Vet Clinic. Please feel free to come and meet her when you are visiting Family Pet Centre.

*Apart from domestic dogs and cats, she also had the opportunity to treat cheetah, lion, leopard, caracals, bushbabies, elephant, rhinos, meerkats, mongooses, a variety of antelopes and duikers species, kori bustard, vultures, Verreaux's eagle-owl, Taita Falcon and more.
